Do you do Custom Builds?

All of our models are pre-engineered and carefully designed to maximize both the functionality of the container. While all of our models are a base design, we do not offer complete customization but you can work with our designer to make upgrades, and modifications to make it more your home. Our goal is to offer premier product to the masses at an affordable price point.

The team will help ensure that a container home is right for you, and provide you with final pricing. Once all of that is squared away, and any questions you have are answered, we will move forward by collecting an 18% deposit and being the building process.

How do payments and financing work?

How long does it take to build?

Our standard build time is 10-12 weeks, but if we do have products you can purchase that can be delivered to you within 1-2 weeks. To see products that are available for purchase now, check out our store.

What kind of climates can my container home handle?

Container housing can effectively shield against extreme winds, precipitation, and even burglary because of it's steel box structure. This container home is your protection from the elements, and it can combat shifting temperatures and climates, and can also stand up to storms and heavy winds. There are multiple options to fasten your container home for extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes and tornados.

What are the heating and cooling system in the container home?

Mini-split HVAC unites are used to provide ample heat and AC.

What sizes of containers do you offer?

As we use standard shipping containers, we are able to offer 20 foot and 40 foot options. Both container widths are 8 feet. We use the 'high-cube' containers which are 9 1/2' in height, a foot and a half taller than the standard cube. The industry also makes 48′ and 53′ containers, however we consistently use 20' and 40' containers to keep our homes the most cost effective.

Are they mobile? Can I transport them?

While shipping containers were made to be easily transported, they are not conductive to placing on a trailer and moving around each weekend like those "tiny homes" you see on TV. These homes each weigh well over 15,000 pounds. This makes them hard to move around. These homes are made to be transported, set in place, and stay put to be your home. If you do need to move it, it can be with the assistance of your local tow company. This isn't something you would likely do yourself on your own trailer.

How are they insulated?

How are they powered?

Recommended foundation types?

We will help you prepare any foundation type you have for your home but we do have 3 different types of foundation that we would recommend when preparing for your container home.

  1. Piers: Digging and pouring concrete piers, then placing crushed graves around the piers for drainage.

  2. Piers & Slabs: This option includes pouring the piers and then a concrete slab on top of the piers to give a good solid surface under your container home, this helps keep things from digging under the home. This is the option we best recommend.

  3. Crawl Space: This option would add a partial crawl space to either the concrete piers with crushed gravel or the piers with crushed gravel or the piers and slab. We highly recommend this options in areas that have really cold climates, this is where all the plumbing connections would be made.

Large windows & doors?

A very common question we often get is can we add large floor to ceiling windows and doors to our container homes? We can yes, but this is an option of an upgrade. The structure and stability depend on the walls of the container, so the more that is removed, the more engineering, bracing and welding is required. The price of these modification depend on the size of openings and additional engineering needed to ensure the structure stays stable.

Do we ship outside of the United States?

Is this container home safe?

One of the most regular questions we receive regards the safety of shipping containers and then added security in building out a home. We are devoted to making the custom container home process as smooth and simple as possible, with an intention focused on security. The windows and doors that we install are to provide safety and prevent form theft or break-ins. Locks have always been a great way to secure your belongings and prevent unwanted exposure. If you leave the original metal doors on, you can acquire and install a padlock for security. Your doors and windows pose the same risk as a traditional home, with some options being built for security and others not, but the importance is to lock your doors. It is possible to install security systems to give you more comfort if desired.

What upgrades are available for my container?

Each of our homes is built from a base of one of our 4 models, however, each home can be modified and upgraded to accommodate your wants. We have upgrades for all different things, exterior, interior, and all the little things. Some of our upgrades are:
